A malayali student who was working in a as porter raped a TV star in her room after sneaking in as she slept.
Soby John, 24, fetched a copy of her key card and let himself in to her Central London hotel room after seeing her return drunk from a night out.
The terrified woman, who cannot be identified, woke to find the porter having sex with her.
He was arrested hours later and officers searched his home.
He was taken to a police station where he had his DNA, mugshot and fingerprints taken. Specially trained detectives took a video statement from his victim at a “rape suite” at a Central London police station.
Soby John originally first denied the attack but dramatically changed his plea to guilty this week.
A hearing via video link was set up and John from Wembley, North West London, admitted rape from his jail cell where he was awaiting trial at Southwark Crown Court.
The part-time student from Kerala was remanded in custody and will be sentenced in April over the attack in October.
At an earlier hearing prosecutor Lesley Jones told the court: “He entered her room by clandestine means without her permission.
“She was extremely intoxicated and woke to find him on top of her.”
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said yesterday: “Soby John pleaded guilty to the rape of a woman at a Central London hotel.”
